problem with mach 3 post processor
« on: February 09, 2014, 06:25:43 PM »
Good evening everyone, I'm a new user and I have a problem with the post processor for mach3. When I start a process with coordinates x0, y0, z0 with wcs at the top of the model, the tool moves through the x, y coordinates without using the z safe, scratching the workpiece. I tried the tab of working heights to change the parameters but nothing. Could you help me? many thanks :)

I just tested this with the generic Mach3 post and it looks good to me. Did you set a G54 work offset? (See the block just below the S4600 M3 line below).

Hi :), thanx for your answer! Yes the G54 is setting in my post processor. When I read your post processor there is the same problem: Z don't rise in safety while X and Y reach the start position.

I am pretty sure this is a machine setup issue, not a post processor issue. We have plenty of Mach 3 users with this post.

You also have to set the Tool Length Offset for each tool.  Normally set G54 Z0 on your machine.  If you read the Coordinate System link it should answer your questions. If not, refer to your Mach 3 manual?
